StrongHold COMMUNITY HOME
The StrongHold Community Home offers an inclusive place of safety, acceptance and nurture of all. The dignity and worth of each person is honoured and their individual gifts are celebrated. In the process of sharing these gifts we promote strong individuals and create a strong, vibrant community.
Our History
In 1997 the StrongHold Community Home was opened. This initiative was created because the community desired a safe place to call home. We at the Chaplaincy consider the StrongHold Community Home to be community led. Community members take a leadership role in the decision-making process and the daily functions of this initiative. Our daily activities are managed by an Oversight Committee made up of volunteers from the Carlington community which includes members from our neighbourhood and supporting churches. Hospitality at the StrongHold is provided by these dedicated volunteers.
The StrongHold Community Home is an initiative of the Carlington Community Chaplaincy and is sponsored by the Carlington Community Chaplaincy Council.
