Mission Statement
The Carlington Community Chaplaincy is a ministry of presence, rooted in the Gospel, fostering a safe, supportive and empowering environment for everyone within our diverse community. We honour and value all people.
Who We Are
The C.A.R.E.S. team responds to community spiritual needs. We began as a pastoral care team. Over the years our services have broadened and we reach out to those in need: the young, the elderly, people with physical or emotional challenges as well as people from diverse backgrounds. This is an initiative of the Carlington Community Chaplaincy and is sponsored by the Carlington Community Chaplaincy Council.
What We Do
As a community-based spirituality program in the Carlington area, we respond to the varying spiritual and religious needs of people in this community. These needs are diverse because of the rich mosaic of the community which we serve. Many people are from mainstream faith traditions such as Islam, Judaism, Buddhism and Christianity. Also some people have a faith practice that is different from traditional religious beliefs. We are an all-inclusive chaplaincy and all are welcome in our presence.
The C.A.R.E.S. Program is designed to offer support to individuals and community and to empower neighbours to help neighbours.
We encourage people in the community to care for one another. Many people in this community face daily struggles such as mental health issues, addictions, trauma and poverty. We are here to support people in this process in the daily journey of life. We are here to help the Carlington community build a network of support, especially in relation to their spiritual needs born out of the struggles and celebrations of everyday life.
