Bellevue Youth in Action
A program for the young adults in Kitchissippi United Church, Y FOCUS and the Bellevue community as an inter faith, multicultural outreach group for ages 17-30 years and representing various religious, ethnic and cultural groups.
Outline of the proposed goals and objectives.
The primary goals of the Young Adult group (to be named later):
Through regular meetings and special projects, the members shall
a) Become aware of social issues that affect young people and their futures and act to bring about positive change.
b) Make possible meaningful interfaith dialogue that leads to mutual understanding and respect among all faiths.
c) Bring together young people of all faiths to address community needs in the Bellevue-Medford community with an emphasis on mentorship programs under the banner of Bellevue Youth in Action (BYA) which will be a program of the Carlington Community Chaplaincy Council..
d) Provide its members with opportunities for personal development through local and global service to others.
Major programs. As each program is developed, it will have a co-ordinator who will be able to call on group members to contribute their time, talents and expertise, in a regular program of awareness and personal development activities, service opportunities and fund raising.
a) Start a group for young women, 12-17 years, by September 2009.

b) Support the group for young women, 17-25 years, already started.

c) Support and add complementary activities to an existing group for young men 12-17 years.

d) Organize and support a drumming group for any interested youth.

e) Support the youth work of existing organizations working in the Bellevue-Medford community such as the Carlington Community Chaplaincy and Christie Lake Camp.

Youth leadership, meeting and activity space, volunteers and financial support.
Y FOCUS-Ottawa and the Y.
Volunteers and financial support as well as assistance in organizing fund raising events through such fund raising projects as dinners, Christmas tree and other types of sales.
Service options for individual participation to support Interval House, Refugees, Y camps.
International links in projects such as Roll Back Malaria, Sierra Leone projects, Light Up Costa Rica, youth exchanges and Peace Action conferences.
YMCA-YWCA.
Leadership training opportunities in the Y, recreation facilities and Y memberships, participation in camping programs and access to other community resources.
Carlington Community Chaplaincy Council.
Staff support, contacts in the local community, moral and material support, youth leadership, meeting space.
